We only tried a few beers because of time and kids... But the Black Squirrel was so amazing we bought 2 bottles of it to take home to Wichita. The environment was really nice, however having some board games would have given this place a 5. The food we tried (chips and queso) was hot and the service quick. If we were local, we'd probably come here frequently.
My wife and I decided to check out a local brewery I had heard good things about. The 1 beer I had was very good. The problem is I couldn't order any more beers due to the bar tenders ignoring us for a good 20 minutes or so. They weren't ignoring their friends who walked in the door though. Horrible customer service. We left and went to Boulevard and Fringe in Lee's Summit. Both of those places appreciated our business and acknowledged we were there. It's a shame too. I had looked forward to trying several other beers from Cinder Block. Bad customer service can really sour your point of view on a brewery.
Great staff. The food truck is open most of the time and offers a great selection of food. I would recommend this place to anyone. Dogs welcome on the patio. They have a private event space available. Oh, did I mention the beer is amazing!
Had a fantastic experience attending a wedding reception at the brewery.
I have since returned to get a better idea of what they have to offer and have been thoroughly impressed by the quality of the beer coming out of Cinder Block and the friendliness and customer service provided by bar tending staff.
This will be the next big brewery to come out of Kansas City to rival Boulevard!
Coming from and avid home brewer and harsh beer critic, I was very impressed with the facility and couldn't find a beer I didn't enjoy.
